The other day I did a post based off of William Carlos Williams’ poem “This Is Just To Say.” I offered a couple parody versions, and we all had a good laugh, and shared and grew closer. Remember?
The thing is, these parody versions are fun and I think everyone should join in. Don’t worry – they’re not terribly tough. They don’t have to involve eating something, be it fruit or otherwise. They just need to follow the basic structure of the original poem. You could go with…This Is Just To Say… I forgot to pay the cable bill.
orThis Is Just To Say… I have made the unfortunate decision to cut my own hair.
So, take a deep breath, a belt of strong coffee and give it a go! For this weeks Weekly “Question” of the Week, give us your best (or second best, or 5th, or whatever) “This Is Just to Say”
Here’s the original, for referenceThis Is Just to Say I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold
